Self-watering pots of resistant plastic material make the care of the plants easier. The pots hold the water in the reservoir on the bottom due to a special system and the plants can get it from there with their roots. This way you will be able to stop watering for a couple of days (it depends however on the season of the year). The essential parameter for choosing a pot are the diameter and the height thereof. It is valid generally that if you want to pot a plant into a pot there should be about 5 cms between the root ball and the pot wall.
